How to Find Your Device Account Number (Last 4 Digits)

To identify the specific 4 digits that merchants see during a transaction, follow these steps on your iPhone:

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Tap Wallet & Apple Pay.

  3. Select the specific Credit Card you used.

  4. Go to the Info tab.

  5. Tap Card Information.

  6. Check the 4 digits displayed under Device Account Number (or "Apple Pay").

Important Information on Transactions

  • Merchant View: The last 4 digits of your Device Account Number are what appear on your transaction history and what merchants see, not your physical card's last 4 digits.

  • Unique Assignment: Each card added to Apple Pay is assigned its own unique Device Account Number per device.

  • Security: This process ensures your actual credit card details are never shared with the merchant during a purchase.
