The method for taking a screenshot depends on the device and operating system you're using:
Computer
Mac (Apple)
You have several options:
Capture the entire screen:
Press Shift + Command (⌘) + 3Capture a selected portion of the screen:
Press Shift + Command (⌘) + 4, then drag to select the area.Open the screenshot toolbar (newer macOS versions):
Press Shift + Command (⌘) + 5
By default, screenshots are saved to your Desktop, unless you’ve changed the save location.
Windows
You have multiple options:
Capture the entire screen and auto-save:
Press Windows key + Print Screen (PrtSc)
Screenshots are saved in:
Pictures > ScreenshotsCopy screenshot to clipboard (manual paste required):
Press Print Screen (PrtSc)
Then paste (Ctrl + V) into Paint, Word, or another app.Use Snipping Tool (Windows 10 & 11):
Press Windows + Shift + S
Select the area you want to capture.
Mobile Devices
iPhone or iPad (with Home button)
Press the Home button + Side (or Top) button at the same time, then release.
iPhone or iPad (without Home button)
Press the Side button + Volume Up button at the same time, then release.
Screenshots are saved in the Photos app.
Android Devices
Most Android devices:
Press the Power button + Volume Down button simultaneously.
The screen will briefly flash to confirm the screenshot.
Alternatively:
Press and hold the Power button, then tap Screenshot (if available).
Screenshots are typically saved in the Gallery or Photos app, under Screenshots.
