How do I take a screenshot?

The method for taking a screenshot depends on the device and operating system you are using. Follow the instructions below for your specific device:

Desktop & Laptop

  • Windows:

    • Auto-save entire screen: Press Windows key + Print Screen (PrtSc). Your screenshot will be saved in Pictures > Screenshots.

    • Snipping Tool (Windows 10 & 11): Press Windows + Shift + S to select a specific area to capture.

    • Manual Copy: Press Print Screen (PrtSc) to copy the screen to your clipboard, then paste it (Ctrl + V) into an app like Paint or Word.

  • Mac (Apple):

    • Entire screen: Press Shift + Command (⌘) + 3.

    • Selected portion: Press Shift + Command (⌘) + 4, then drag to select the area.

    • Screenshot Toolbar: Press Shift + Command (⌘) + 5 (for newer macOS versions).

    • Note: Screenshots are saved to your Desktop by default.

Mobile Devices

  • iPhone or iPad:

    • With Home Button: Press the Home button + Side (or Top) button simultaneously.

    • Without Home Button: Press the Side button + Volume Up button simultaneously.

    • Note: Screenshots are saved in your Photos app.

  • Android Devices:

    • Standard Method: Press the Power button + Volume Down button at the same time.

    • Alternative: Press and hold the Power button, then tap Screenshot if the option appears.

    • Note: Screenshots are typically found in the Gallery or Photos app under a "Screenshots" folder.
